Changes

So many changes this time of year...

We had our first slow night tonight due to the lack of warm walkable weather...

Also, by now all of our summer/fall dishes have "fallen" off the menu to be replaced by our winter seasonal specialties....

Out
Slaw
Corn
Trout

In
Garlic Mashed
Fried Sweet Potatoes
Meat loaf

We still have plenty of beer milkshakes, fries, and other yummies..

Javits Center Food Show

Great day today! Went to the Food Show at the Javits Center with George Motz. Had fun running through the place trying out a lot of food and spices. Then George screened his movie and then we had a Q&A session. I was on the panel.

Our most recent special

Our most recent “special” is braised lamb shank w/ garlic mashed potatoes, spicy warm kraut, onion and cabbage, and a light sauce made from a reduction of the braising liquid.

We braise pork ribs with RC Cola, and Beef Ribs with Dark Amber Beer. What do we braise lamb shanks with? Apple Cider! You can taste it when you eat the bits of cabbage that braised w/ the shank.

The shanks are .75 to 1 lbs. All that sells for $9.10, or with two shanks for $15.35. Either way a good deal!

Nearly naked food: Salt, Pepper, Lamb Shank, Cabbage, Onion, Shallots, and that’s it!. The sauce is mounted w/ our famous Schnack Sauce; not so naked!

Feedback

Some thoughts about Schnack and our new menu.. from "A Brooklyn Life." Click Here

"Schnack on Union Street raised its prices. The new menu focuses more on burgers and dogs (now the black Angus beef dog from Stahl-Meyer), ... Personally, when I crave Schnack, it's the burgers I'm after."
